Accounting Office

The Accounting Office of the Local Government Unit, as mandated under Section 474 of the Local Government Code of 1991 (R.A. 7160), is responsible for maintaining and keeping the financial records of the LGU in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations. It ensures that all disbursements, obligations, and other financial transactions are properly authorized, documented, and recorded in the books of accounts. The office prepares and submits financial statements and reports to oversight agencies such as the Commission on Audit (COA). It also certifies the availability of funds, monitors budget utilization, and assists in the implementation of an effective internal control system. Moreover, the Accounting Office provides technical and financial advice to the Local Chief Executive and other departments to promote sound fiscal management and good governance.
